1. Identify Hyperbolas:
Hyperbolas are the most often seen shapes in GPR scan images. Point-like objects, such as pipes, buried cables, or small items, usually create such hyperbolas. The size and shape of hyperbolas help to find the depth of the object in the ground and its type of material.
2. Distinguish Between Materials:
Signals are reflected differently by different materials. Generally, metals produce strong reflections, while concrete, soil, or plastic produce weaker reflections. The experts differentiate these materials from their strength and pattern of reflection.
3. Analyze Layers:
Changes in soil layers or concrete slab surfaces are indicated in the scan data with horizontal lines. It is useful to know these layers for locating utilities or assessing structures.
4. Cross-Referencing Data:
The method improves accuracy multiple times. Cross-checking data from GPR locating affirms the presence of specific objects, thus reducing the possibility of overlooking important details.
